Money ball

Check it out: a guy nailed a half-court shot for $25,000 at the Siena game this past weekend.

That was actually one of SportsCenter's Top 10 "plays" over the weekend. I couldn't believe my eyes!

That is fantastic! Congratulations you deserve it!

@Troy_G: really? $25K for a half-court shot? Now this lucky guy might be very generous (I hope he is), but somehow I would feel more comfortable if the price was something like: half-court shot = $15K to you, $10K to a charity. Sends a better message to me, and I don't think the sponsor would look worse...

@-S oh, christ, quit your whining. The guy hit a lucky shot and was rewarded as is the standard operating procedure in such things. If he feels the need to donate some of his winning, well, good for him. if not, I sure as hell wouldn't blame him. We've all got bills. 50-50 raffles are for charities. Contests like this are pure spectacle. If you don't like it, sponsor your own contest.

@Slacker: oh if it's all Standard Operating Procedure, than yeah, it's OK. In my book of stupid.

@-S: you're just jealous you didn't win $25k.

:-P

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

[C]ommon sense tells me (yes, I know one is on dangerous ground when invoking common sense) there's room for consensus here. Or at least compromise. Although something tells me the city won't back off its regulation against live chickens performing in those stand-up comedy showcases. I guess the city has this thing about chickens.
