Thanks!

aoa small box logoThe past week has been unbelievably good to AOA. First the birthday party, which was a great time -- and now this: a top-three ranking in multiple categories of the Metroland readers' poll.

AOA was voted best local web site (community) and best local web site (arts).
We were also voted second for best local web site (news) and best local blog (congrats, Matt!). And AOA finished at #3 for best local web site (music).

We're especially proud of the best local web site (community) honor. The most fulfilling part of working on AOA has been the chance to meet so many interesting/smart/insightful/kind/funny people. Your support and encouragement keeps us going on the tough days -- and on the good days, it pushes us to do more.

Thank you so much.

Rock on, Greg and Mary. Congrats.

You have earned said accolades. Congratulations, and here's to many more years of such things.

All very well deserved. Congrats to everyone that contributes.

"AOA has made itself damn near indispensable to its community"

AWESOME.

1) Yay!

2) You're pretty much the only entry in the media category, other than the Times-Union, that I would have any opinion on.

3) They still publish Metroland?

Congratulations Greg and Mary - and to everybody who writes and takes photos and contributes to AOA and makes this website what everybody in the Capital District bookmarks on their Firefoxes!

Congrats AOA! :)

No - thank you! You've built a community, you provide great content - you deserve the success!

Can anyone remember Albany before AOA? I sure can't. Love you guys! Congrats :)

Congrats!

But, seriously, Friday Puppy? I just don't get it...

Jay: *puppies*. Even a Friday Babies, a Friday Rainbow, or a Friday Kitten Shot From a Canon At Sunset would work.

Huzzah!

Congrats guys. I do love this place, and I'm glad to see it get the (continued) recognition it deserves.

Job well done! That's so awesome! You were a savior when I moved to the capital region. Congrats, guys!

congrats, Greg and Mary! You totally deserve this!

[C]ommon sense tells me (yes, I know one is on dangerous ground when invoking common sense) there's room for consensus here. Or at least compromise. Although something tells me the city won't back off its regulation against live chickens performing in those stand-up comedy showcases. I guess the city has this thing about chickens.
